Card making envelopes

The first thing the recipient of a handmade card is going to see is its envelope, so it is really important that it is a worthy companion for its contents. Card craft fans have a wide range of card making envelopes available to them and these come in a number of sizes. Buyers can obtain them in A6, DL, small square, A5 and 7" by 5" and they are available in good-quality 100gsm paper. Whether they are intended for a special occasion such as to send a wedding invitation or as items for everyday use, they are perfect for any purpose. While card making envelopes are one of the most crucial supplies, there are a number of other essentials that every card craft fan should ensure they are well stocked with.

Card blanks

Often the first decision on a card making project, there are a wide range of card blanks that buyers can choose from. The most important choice will be from the different sizes that are available, as this will determine what card making envelope and card making embellishments are suitable. Loose card blanks are available in A6, DL, small square and A5 sizes, which could be perfect for one-off projects. Those looking to create a larger volume of work could take a look at the 7" by 5" card blanks, as these are available in packs of 25 – although card making envelopes will need to be bought separately.

Card making embellishments

After buying card blanks, the next thing on card craft fans' shopping lists are card making embellishments. There are a wide variety of these currently on the market, ranging from adhesive stickers to decoupage and craft wire. Depending on the card making idea that is forming the basis of the project, buyers could opt for beads and gems, buttons and miniatures or even craft wire and foil. Those worried about cost could take a look at a craft pound shop, which offers a wide range of card making embellishments at a low price. While some of these are ranges designed for sale at this price, others are end-of-line or clearance stock, meaning buyers can often find a real bargain!

Card making ideas

Often, the hardest part about card craft is coming up with the initial card making ideas, but there are a whole host of sources that can provide inspiration. Sometimes the best way to come to an idea is to consider the occasion and recipient. Christmas cards, for example, have a whole host of traditional images associated with them and these can provide the inspiration needed to come up with a great card making idea. Alternatively, thinking about the recipient can help the maker arrive at the perfect concept - a birthday card for a football loving boy, for example, could be based around 3D football stickers.

Poly bags

Often, those who enjoy card making decide to use their hobby to make money, becoming card craft professionals who make and sell on their cards. In addition to card envelopes, they often need poly bags in order to show off their completed projects to their best potential. These are crystal-clear polypropylene card bags that both protect the card prior to sale and give the enterprise a professional feel.
